Here are the refreshed logos for two financial service companies under the same owner located in Fort Worth. He wanted to reflect the personalities in the original logos but thought the fonts were dated and wanted a generally cleaner feel. I paired a more elegant font for Ruddell Fiancial Services and gave it more life with a brighter more purple toned blue. I also elevated the Fort Worth Financial logo to be more clean and sophisticated but incorporated in a secondary mark that sticks to the more western roots of the original logo.
Continued work on a new ride share service available in Florida and Texas.
Unused idea for an eventual ride share app icon. The steering wheel would be for the driver version and the “VW bus” would be for the rider component. In the end we went with something simpler, just the name of the company, but I still like the way these go together. I did a lot of research about the types of steering wheels in VW buses and there was quite a variety but in the end this was my favorite one.

For my senior capstone project I wanted to tackle the social issue of mental health disorders and how we perceive them. I did weeks of research and picked 3 mental health issues that I saw were the most negatively stigmatized in the young adult demographic. I wanted to develop a print campaign targeted specifically towards adolescents aiming at opening the dialogue about mental health disorders while also trying to shed a light on them in a positive way and show how prevalent they are. I named the campaign “shattering the stigma”. I incorporated an ambiguous character and relatable scenarios to the touch points to resonate emotionally with as many people as possible. The project aimed to show teens they are not alone and have nothing to be ashamed of.
The project consisted of creating a small business to brand. I chose to create an imaginary cupcake business that would be located on Main St. in Norman, Oklahoma called The Cupcakery that would specialize in custom flavored cupcakes that would change every other month. My goal for this brand was to be fun and eye catching. I used bright colors that invoked hunger. The next phase was to brand a micro-campaign sponsored by our brand. I created the idea of a cupcake bake off that would benefit the Norman Animal Shelter named Pupcakes that would take place on campus corner during an OU football game.
The goal of this project was to pick a sort of perception and create a three part mini-series about your subject. I thought it would be interesting to choose Scientology and frame it as a non-biased look at "the truth" of scientology which is where the name came from. My three episodes were to focus on the author, the leader, and the environment of the church itself. The concept behind the brand is that there is so much being said about scientology in the media today and either it is positive from the supporters or negative from the critics. I wanted the words to be overwhelming and cloud the meaning of the subject matter so that the viewer doesn’t know what to think. The larger text in each poster represents one of the three universal principles that scientologist leader L. Ron Hubbard wrote.
The goal of this project was to represent a duality using experimental typography. The subject matter for this piece was artists of any kind. To narrow down the list I started with artist that personally inspire me and after lots of research decided on choosing two specific sculptures by two specific artists. I chose to focus on Urs Fischer's "Untitled (Big Clay)" (#4 in particular) and Friendswithyou's "Light Cave". The duality I focused on between these two sculptures was heavy versus light and monumental versus interactive. Using statements from the artists themselves and from fans I tried to emulate the duality through experimentation with typographic placement. The two posters mirror the sculptures and remain very different while maintaining the same typeface of Futura.
The goal of this project was to experiment with type setting a book. There was a list to pick from and the rest was open. The idea behind this version of the classic Wizard of Oz was to color code each character. Every time that character talked it was changed to that color. Along with the color, I chose to emphasize specific statements or sections that I thought helped move the story along. Each character was given an icon that appears on the cover and that would appear when the name of the character was used in the title of a chapter.
This project was to create a scrolling website infographic. I chose to focus on the realities of exercise in America and the importance of getting 10,000 steps a day. The infographic starts with the realities and changes colors to depict the shift to the benefits of working out. The second phase was to create a short teaser that would spark interest in the inforgraphic.
The goal of this project was to redesign a government issued item. The options included passports, licenses, government IDs, but I chose the task of redesigning US currency. My idea was that each bill would represent a popular city in America. I researched colors associated with each city while maintaining all the information crucial to paper money. Each bill has small components that would make them hard to counterfeit. I chose to use pictures of iconic locations in each city with hand drawn elements and overlays. I wanted the money to be bright and impactful while still being representative of currency.
This project was created for my first typography class. We were given a specific list of typefaces we could choose from. Designing this poster helped me begin to expand on my typographic knowledge and Avenir is still one of my favorite typefaces. The goal was to present the typeface in its entirety as well as size variations for headline and body copy.
This was made for my first typography class where our goal was to create two different magazine covers for the swiss typographische monatsblätter. The first cover had to utilize the number of the magazine in a traditional sense. Then the second cover was to use any sort of experimental process. For the second cover I printed and hand cut out the letters and then dripped them with ink and transferred them to another piece of paper. My goal was to keep the structure of the letters while abstracting the edges for a uniquely handmade look.
